Everything you need to know before joining me on a dive trip of a lifetime.
I know how exciting — and sometimes overwhelming — it can feel to join an underwater photography workshop, especially if it’s your first time. That’s why I’ve made sure my workshops are easy to understand, book, and prepare for. This page explains exactly how the process works, so you’ll always know what to expect.
Whether you’re looking to improve your macro skills, explore creative lighting, or just spend time underwater with like-minded ocean lovers, here’s how to get started.
My company Underwater Photo Company runs a small number of in-person underwater photography workshops each year in places like Lembeh (Indonesia), Puerto Galera (Philippines), Dauin (Dumaguete, Philippines), Raja Ampat (Indonesia), and other world-class destinations. Every workshop is designed to help you:
Become an expert in using your camera and lighting to create the images you’ve always dreamed of
Capture sharp, creative, colourful images
Learn to evoke emotion, create a connection and tell stories with your images
Receive daily coaching and gentle, constructive feedback
Feel supported and inspired every step of the way
Once you’ve chosen your workshop, drop me an email and I’ll send you:
To reserve your place, simply complete the online booking form and return a copy of the signed Waiver and Terms and Conditions document along with a copy of your dive certification card, and I’ll send you an invoice for the deposit.
Please note: A booking is confirmed once the deposit has been received in full. Final participation is confirmed upon receipt of the balance payment into our bank account.
Because these workshops have limited spaces and involve detailed coordination with dive resorts, I have a clear cancellation policy. Here’s the short version:
No refunds or credits will be given for unused or partially used services for any reason, including missed dives, early departure, illness, or ear problems. Dives included in the workshop package are non-transferable in all respects: they cannot be transferred to another participant, and they cannot be carried over or used on days outside the workshop dates.
The full terms are included in the booking documents, which I’ll send to you upfront.
Once you’re booked, I’ll help you prepare for your adventure! You’ll receive:
A pre-trip gear checklist and destination information document.
A WhatsApp Group that opens before the trip so that you can get to know your fellow workshop-goers
Free foundational and settings videos to help you feel confident before you even step into the water
During the workshop, you’ll get:
Daily guided dives tailored to underwater photographers
Illustrated lessons and tutorials
Group and 1-on-1 image reviews
A relaxed, encouraging environment designed to help you thrive
All workshop bookings (including accommodation, diving, and early arrival) must be made through me and not with the resort. This ensures a smooth and consistent experience for everyone.
I work closely with the resort to coordinate your stay — so you can relax and enjoy the journey!
If you’d love to join me on a future trip, have questions about how it all works, or just want to chat about whether a workshop is right for you — I’d love to hear from you.
Let’s make magic underwater!
